FULL ACADEMIC YEAR

This consists of doing a full academic year or complete school term in an Irish school whilst living with full board in an Irish family. The student follows the school timetable and has weekly extracurricular activities.

When participating in a educational programme abroad for teenagers, one must take into account not only the quantity of the classes, but also the cultural, social, personal and educational environment and to what extent this will motivate the students to study, feel at ease, and make friends.

Ireland is proud, and with good reason, of its long tradition of welcoming foreign students and the reputation that Irish people have of being a warm, hospitable and cordial people. Family life is valued above all, and this is reflected in the quality of our host families and our schools.

Who should apply for this programme?

  • Those students who wish to spend a term or full academic year in Ireland, to experience an Irish school and the Irish lifestyle and who wish to perfect their English.
  • Those students who wish to study in a British or Irish University (we would usually recommend a minimum of 2 years which are sometimes compulsory).
  • Those students who wish to undertake their secondary education in Ireland from the age of 12-13.

Requirements

  • Between 12 and 18 years old
  • A reasonable level of English

  • Good health
  • A positive attitude towards participating in the programme and willingness to adapt to living in a foreign country.
