SAILING COURSES
CHARACTERISTICS
PLACE: The Fastnet Marine and Outdoor Education Centre at Schull Community College in West Cork.
AGE: The courses are open to
1. Children between 8 and 10 years old-- limited to a maximum of six per week unless participants are providing their own Optimist dinghies.
2. 11 year old and above-- no upper age limit. Adult participants are most welcome. Each course will be based on the I.S.A. 5 level proficiency scheme.
- Level One - Start Sailing
- Level Two - Basic Skills
- Level Three - Improving Skills
- Level Four - Advanced Skills
LENGHT:
Each course lasts for 5 days, Monday to Friday with a preliminary administrative meeting on the Monday morning al 9:00 am
Each sailing day lasts from 9:30 until 17:00 hrs.
MATERIAL:
Wet suits, buoyancy aids and cagoules are available at the centre. A separate 80€ refundable deposit is required if any such equipment is borrowed. Participants are asked to provide their own footwear, swimming togs, packed lunches daily, showering equipment and notebook, pen / pencil
